Jeff Canham

I find it so neat to see someone paint large type flawlessly by hand. Take a look at the work of Jeff Canham and you would agree completely. Even the kerning is spot on!

eBoy LA Poster

eBoy is an amazing pixel design studio. I have been following their work for years now and their creations simply blow my mind. Pixel design is something that takes a lot of patience, practice, and pure skill; and seeing these projects they have worked on is really inspiring. One of their latest products they have up in their shop is a really excellent LA Poster. It’s not easy to sit down and build a city pixel by pixel!

Fanclock

Heres a cool idea for a clock, called the fanclock, by Stanislav Katz. From the image above, you can see how the hands would appear to be connected in the way a paper fan would be held together. I am not positive if this is a concept of an actual product. See more great industrial ideas at the portfolio site.

Linden Surfboard

This is such a cool looking surfboard by Linden! Looks like quite a process for building one of these too… which would make the $2,500 - $5000 price range understandable. Owning one of these would give me reason to move closer to the ocean!

Posted on: May 29th, 2008 Prince of Persia: from sketches to sketches

Prince of Persia Screenshot

I am not one to write and rave much about games, though, when I saw a post about the new Prince of Persia game over at Cats of Thondor, I felt this were definitely worth a mention. You see, the image above is not conceptual art for the game, but actual game play screenshots! I’d be convinced if someone mentioned it was a painting, but in fact, it’s some good ol’ CG textures and cell shading to give the illustrative look it has.

Alberto Cerrinteno Shop

I was browsing the amazing illustrations by Alberto Cerriteno when I noticed he now has a shop! Have I been blind and missed this before? In any case, these beautiful Giclee prints can be purchased for $99 - $150.

This is great. Often, you see this kind of thing at expos, car shows, and supermarkets, but that is with advertisers and often lame designs. However, these decals would make any lonely concrete floor visually better.

Biggest Drawing in the World

Erik Nordeneakar decided to get in touch with DHL to create the “biggest drawing in the world” and it is massive. Shipping a suitcase with a GPS device allowed Erik to plot it’s location and direct where the suitcase is shipped, allowing him to draw the route shaping into a self portrait. Pretty neat and creative.
